DESCRIPTION:
English (Anglo-American) 8-day time/strike Gothic style wall clock, with a Seth Thomas movement. Many of the cases made in England are found with a Seth Thomas, Welch, or New Haven movement. American movements were purchased by provincial case makers for a fraction of the cost of an English mov't, C. 1880
CONDITION:
The case wood appears to be some type of European hardwood like walnut or elm. The finish appears to be original. Original painted dial has some flaking and paint loss. Pendulum is original. Houses a Seth Thomas movement that is original to the case. Minute hand is a homemade replacement. Hour hand is original. Ht. 33".
